Hello Everyone, its Day 13! We're getting really close to the halfway point! Today I want to share a world on Minecraft, I've been working on with some family and friends. For those who don't know what Minecraft is let me explain briefly.
Minecraft is a video game in which you are spawned into a world full of nature, nothing but trees, mountains, jungles, deserts, wildlife, and a few small villages spread out here and there. There are 2 ways to play the game, in creative and in survival. If you chose creative mode you are pretty much a God in your Minecraft world, all materials are available to you instantly and you are free to make whatever your heart desire, even villagers, animals and monsters. You can choose to explore your world on foot or fly through the sky, and you can never die. Playing in survival mode makes you a human in the Minecraft world. You start from scratch, first cutting down trees to make tools simple tools and making your way up from there. You explore the world only on foot, you get hungry, you get hurt from falling from high places, you get chased by monsters at night, you must fight to survive, you explore caves to mine valuables like iron, coal, gold, emeralds, diamonds, etc., you must travel to different biomes to find different types of trees, sand, animals, and villages, You can still create whatever your heart desires but it takes a lot longer since the materials are not instantly available.
That being said, during the duration of this quarantine I've been playing a lot of Minecraft, because why not, right. I got the time right now so let's use it! The thing I like the most about Minecraft is that I can play it with friends and family. And for the past maybe 3 weeks now I've been doing just that. We started off with a normal world all forest, and hills, like the pictures below.
Slowly working our way into creating a small village of our own with a huge barn, and vast fields.

We had someone join the world just a few days ago so he's working on make his own modern style Minecraft house.

And another friend decided to build a cute little castle!
And I took it upon myself to take a mountain like the one below, carve into it and.....

Build a haunted mansion. (It's still a working progress)
And we are playing in survival mode, that's why it takes a while to build. I did have to go into creative to take the picture but I promise I didn't touch anything (lol), just flew around to take pictures. I like Minecraft because as a creative soul I cant to use my imagination to build anything really, but I like it most when I play with friends. I think that during these times of struggle and being stuck at home playing Minecraft or any game for that matter with people you know and love and probably miss seeing right now, give you the opportunity to connect and have fun at the same time.
I think that while playing Minecraft these past few weeks, I've actually gotten closer to some family I used to barely talk to. Especially since it not just playing the game but we call each other or voice chat while playing, which makes interacting in-game feel more intimate, or at least for me it does.
Try it! Since most of the world is stuck indoors let not just sit and watch tv by ourselves. Let's use the technology which once was said to distance us from society to connect ourselves with the world again. Let's call a loved one, listen to their voices, remember it! Let's video chat with someone we miss! Let's play a game together!
As always thank you for reading, don't forget to like and comment. I hope everyone is keeping safe during these crazy times. See you next time!
