Here is a poem I wrote back in high school. Feel free to leave a comment with any critics or thoughts you may have...

Tick tock Tick tock,
It's 8 o’clock.
In 30 minutes the bell will ring,
And kids will come on in.
Into the classroom, they all come,
They're here to learn and then some.
Most are tired still not used to being up,
Early in the morning since summer stopped.
Tick tock Tick tock,
It's 10 o’clock.
Soon these kids will leave
And others will arrive,
Now they are more awake I do believe,
This is the time that most kids thrive.
The teacher asks questions,
And their arms fly in the air,
They might do some equations,
Sitting in those chairs.
Tick tock tick tock,
It's 12 o’clock.
Everyone’s out at lunch,
Filling their tummies as they munch munch munch.
As for me, I hung up here,
Waiting for 2 o’clock to appear.
So that this room will be full once again,
And the kids can gain,
The knowledge that they need,
To grow up and succeed.
Tick tock tick tock,
Now it's 3 o’clock.
And the kids are ready to leave,
That is why they look at me.
I’m on the wall high and proud,
So everyone can see, I’m not on the ground.
Tick tock tick tock,
It's 4 o’clock.
The kids are all gone.
That’s because the school day is done.
All that’s left is for the janitor to come in the room,
He sweeps sweeps sweeps with his great big broom.
When he’s done he goes away,
And that marks the end of my day.
