Day 10- The Tears in Your Eyes part 5.1

Hello Everyone, today is Day 10! I am one-third of the way into this challenge and I haven't given up yet! For the past few days, I've been working on a chase scene for my short story, The Tears in Your Eyes, but I am having a bit of trouble getting the actual chase written. So, here is the scene that leads up to the chase.

The small unconscious man, opened his eyes right on time to see Steven and Sapphire driving off. At the sight, he jumped to his feet and ran to his partner, still unconscious. The man slapped Dewy on the back of the head and said, "Wake up Dewy! We're gonna lose the girl!"

"Hold on Chewy, just 5 more minutes," Dewy said groggily.

Chewy grabbed Dewy by the ear and pulled him up on his feet, "Hurry up you imbecile! They're getting away!"

"Yes sir, I'm sorry sir," Dewy said scared and in pain.

Chewy let go of his ear and kicked him in the butt, pushing him towards the car. The two men got in their car and speeded out of the parking deck to catch up to Steven and Sapphire.

In the car, Steven and Sapphire traveled in complete silence. The only thing that broke the silence was the occasional GPS directions headed towards Sapphire's house.

Bothered by the awkward silence, Steven couldn't help but steal peeks at the beautiful woman sitting behind him.

"Keep your eyes on the road, will you?" She said examining her nails, not even looking at Steven. "I know its unbelievable to be in the same car with someone like me but restrain yourself ok? I'm so out of your league."

Steven glared at her for a short second, Who does this chicky think she is? He cleared his throat and said, "Sorry to burst your bubble princess, but you're not exactly my type either."

"Where are your manners? How dare you talk to me like that?" She said disgusted, raising her head up and looked at the rearview mirror. Their eyes locked. And for a short moment, a blissful silence fell upon them again. "Red," she said almost at a whisper, then grew louder in a panic, "Re-Red light! Red light. Stop!"

Steven came out of his daze, looked at the light and slammed on the breaks. Sapphire shrieked as the sudden stop threw her forward. Luckily they were able to stop in time.

"What are you doing!" She said trying to pull her back together. "Are you trying to kill me?

"Sorry, but you should really be wearing a seat belt," Steven said.

"And you should--," a familiar car pulled up beside them and caught her attention. "They followed us," she said.

Steven looked out the right side window and sure enough, the two men that tried to kidnap Sapphire were in the car next to them.
