Welcome to Day 4! Today as well I will be continuing the short story I've started on Day 2 and continued on yesterday's post. Today is Day 4 of my 30Day Blog Challenge and I have decided to call this short story, The Tears in Your Eyes, (temporarily). This way it will be easier to mention it in future posts as the story continues to develop. That being said let's continue on with the story.

Steven was stopped at the bottom of the steps to the VIP section. Even though it wasn't his first time conversing with the VIP bodyguards, it was their duty to know who, when, what, and why, anyone and anything goes in and out of the section. After all, formalities where done and IDs checked Steven was granted access to proceed with his pick-up duty. He was told that Miss Sapphire was last seen passed out in booth 4, she had been drinking with a few men but suddenly screamed at them all to leave in a rage outburst. Unsure of what to expect anymore Steven walked cautiously towards booth 4. Once there he saw numerous empty bottles and cups thrown about all over, but the booth was completely empty. He looked up, down and all around but no woman. Everything was trash excepted for a small red pocketbook that had been left open on the floor. Red lipstick, mini makeup mirror, credit cards and an ID with the name Sapphire Torres on it.

She must be so drunk she left it here without realizing it. But where is she? Bathroom?

Taking the purse with him he looked for Miss Sapphire everywhere he could think of, but with no luck. He went back to the bodyguards to ask if they knew where she could have gone, but they were no help at all.

Some bodyguards, why so many rules and formalities if they can even keep track of their VIPs. I can't keep searching like this. It's late, and I got things to do in the morning. She probably just left or something.

Steven stepped outside and was about to call the company to tell them that the customer was nowhere to be found. Just then he saw two dark figures coming out from behind the club and making their way across the street. One of the figures seemed to be carrying something on his shoulders. Suspicion caused Steven to follow them. He followed them into the parking deck across the street. The dim lighting in the parking deck was just enough for Steven to make out two men, both dressed in full black, wearing caps and facemasks to hide their faces. As well as the girl dangling on the larger man's shoulders. She was wearing a sparkly, red, tight skinned dress that would match perfectly with the red purse that Steven found early at Sapphire's VIP booth, one red high heeled shoe, and the jet black hair that swung with the gentle breeze blowing through the deck made it obvious to Steven that she was the one he was looking for.

These guys clearly look suspicious, and I'm pretty sure that's the person I'm supposed to pick up. Now just how do I get them away from her without things getting ugly? Think, Think..... Oh?!

Steven waited until he knew what car they were headed to before making himself known. "Hey! What you got there," he said in a loud voice, walking towards them in the dim light of the parking deck.

The two men froze for a second, then the smaller one of the two turned around to face Steven, still approaching, "Mind your own business, kid," he said, "Shouldn't you be in bed by now"

"That's what I'm saying, old-timer, it's probably past your bedtime as well," Steven said nonchalantly, drawing closer.

Not pleased by Steven's comment the man said, "Listen kid, " the shorter man said, "I suggest you leave before you end up regretting it." He opened the back seat door for his partner to put the girl inside.

"Whoa, you're making it sound like you're doing something you're not supposed to." Gesturing to the woman Steven asked, "Could it have something to do with her?"

"Wha-What are you talking about?" said the man, "We're responsible for taking her home. We work as designated drivers, picking up drunk people like her is what we do. It's our job, now beat it." He motioned to his partner to proceed with putting the girl in the car.

"Oh, really? What company do you work for?" Seven asked, stalling for time. "Do you have some ID?

"We work for ourselves, what are you a cop?" the man said, following with a scoff, and turning to his partner, "Ha, asking us for ID, kids these days. Hurry up!"

The larger man got done with putting the woman in the backseat of the car and the smaller man started to walk over the driver's seat. Right then, Steven got in the way of the smaller man, blocking him from the driver's seat. "I don't know who you're working for, but you must have the wrong lady because that lady is MY customer. I'm not going to ask you nicely again so please hand over that woman to me." Steven said staring at the small man dead in the eyes.

The man laughed, "Are you threatening me?" the man said. Steven stayed quite. "Dewy, show this boy what happens to those who get in my way."
