Hello Everyone, its Day 7 of my 30Day Blog Challenge! This is the first time I've written a fight scene so it took me a while to figure things out. This is the 4th part to my short story that I started on Day 2. If you'd wish to read the story from the beginning click here. I hope you enjoy the read.
Dewy came up behind Steven and yanked him by the collar tossing him on the hard cement floor.
"You know Dewy, you're not just a big boy, but you strong too, huh," Steven said as he got off the floor, and dusted himself off. "Now, don't you just wanna talk? I really don't wanna ruin my best suit."
The smaller man ordered Dewy to finish him. Dewy charged at Steven at full speed as if to tackle him, with arms spread out he looked almost like an enraged bull. Steven now ready for the fight, stood his ground until Dewy got close and dodged the big guy at the last minute. With no time to stop or change the direction of his bolt, Dewy ran into the cement wall and got knocked out. Oh, that was easy?
"You might be big and strong but you're not very smart, are you bud?" Steven said as he checked Dewy for a pulse. Still alive, good. He turned towards the other man and said, "Well, that's one down." He said under his breath.
The man looked at his partner lying on the floor, face still plastered up against the wall, butt poking up. "Damn it Dewy! I gotta do everything myself," he pulled up his sleeves and got into a fighting position. "You're gonna regret messing with me boy," he said and started bouncing around like a fool trying to show off his skills. "I'm a 5th-degree black belt in Taekwondo and Jui Jitsu! Took Judo when back in high school too, you don't stand a chance, better leave while you still can, kid."
"Listen old, man I don't wanna hurt you, I just want to take the girl and go."
"Ha! Hurt me? Just try to!" The man gave the first swing going towards Steven's head.
Steven blocked it effortlessly but did not go for a counterattack. The man still bouncing around like a fool gave blow after blow mixing it up from punches, to kicks, to grabs, but Steven continued to block and dodge every blow with no problem at all. Looks like this has dragged on enough, his moves are so predictable. On the next punch, I'll end it. Right then the man went for a lower jab to the stomach. Steven caught the man by the wrist and twisted his arm. The man groaned in pain.
Through the duration of this fight, the woman in the car was still fast asleep, twisting and turning on the narrow padding of the backseats, until falling off the edge and scaring herself awake. Startled she checked her surroundings, wiped the little bit of drool of the side of her face and fixed her hair and dress.
Then there was a loud thump on the back of the car, which frightened the women and causing her to let out a small yelp. She turned around and looked out the back window.
After getting control of the man's arm, Steven had side-kicked the man in the stomach which tossed him back a few feet. The man's back slammed against the trunk of the car and then slid down to the floor, unconscious.
That's when their eyes met. His, stern and ready to kill, while hers were wide open in shock and fear. Steven walked over to the side of the car, opened the door "So you're awake princess," he said, "I've come to take you home." He offered his hand, but she slapped it away.
"Who are you," she said.
"The name is Steven, you are Sapphire, right? Does this belong to you?" He asked holding up the red pocketbook he had found at the club.
She snatched the pocketbook from Steven's hand and check it's contents. "Yes this is mine, but that doesn't explain what you want from me."
"Cool, that makes this waste of time a little more worth it," Steven said in relief. "Anyway I was contracted as your designated driver today, but these guys tried to kidnap you before could I could get to you," he held out his ID as proof. "Luckily I got suspicious and followed them here."
Getting out of the car Sapphire looked at the two men passed out on the floor. After a few seconds of silent processing, she said, "We should hurry before they wake up. Where's your car?"
Steven took out the keys and pressed the unlock button. Beep Beep. The car next to them went off. Sapphire glares at him in suspicion. "Complete coincidence, I swear," he said.
"Whatever let's just go," she said as she opened the door to get into the back seat.
"Wait, don't you want to call the police?" He asked.
Sapphire paused for a moment then glared at Steven again. "Have you any idea what happens to people like me when you report things to the police? Word gets out, rumors start to circle around you and everything gets blown up out of proportion. Don't you dare tell a soul about this." She got in the car and slammed the door.
Wow, that was a little much, Steven thought, she could have just said no.
Sapphire knocked on the window to get Steven's attention and mouthed out the words "Let's go."
Ok, ok. Steven got in the car, turned it on and pulled out of the parking area.
